Why is it that the newest posts are listed last?
Sometimes I have to click through four or five pages of replies and then scroll to the bottom of the page to get to the newest post.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way of having the last post listed first?

Why is it that the newest posts are listed last? Sometimes I have to click through four or five pages of replies and then scroll to the bottom of the page to get to the newest post. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way of having the last post listed first? Fred Some forums post the newest at the top, Some forums post the oldest at the top. Others have a user option to display threads and posts different ways depending on how the user sets up a profile. There are some menu options at the top of the screen, and some other options at the bottom of the main page that will let you see the most recent posts, etc, and in that list, the latest one is usually displayed at the top of the screen... Since our little forum is just a small whistle stop in the community, there usually is not a lot posted per day, so I usually just click on the most recent posts, and view those. I think it displays the 10 newest ones, and then you can go to another page and see the next ten and so forth... As for visiting entire threads, I am seeing them like you, with the oldest at the top. I am not sure if ProBoards can display them any different way, but I will take a look through My Profile, and the forum settings to see if anything else can be selected, and report back in a bit... I am not sure if ProBoards can display them any different way, but I will take a look through My Profile, and the forum settings to see if anything else can be selected, and report back in a bit... Click on the " Participated" Button to the right of the Main Menu Bar, at the top of the page, to see a Pop-Up Window, listing all of the threads that YOU have participated in. If someone has posted to any of those threads, since you last viewed those THREADS, you will see a "NEW" balloon next to "Participated". The thread with the newest post will be at the top of the list. THREADS with "NEW" posts that you have not read will be marked "NEW". When you click on the Thread it will take you to the first new post made in the thread since you last viewed that THREAD, or the last post made to that THREAD if you have read it. NOTE: It is possible to read the latest POSTS made to the FORUM (SEE BELOW). If you read the latest POSTS, the THREADS in the "Participated" List will still show that YOU have NOT read them... Click on the " Recent Threads" menu option, in the Main Menu Bar, at the top of the page, to see a listing of ALL threads in the FORUM that have been most recently posted to. The thread with the most recent post is at the top of the list. There are about 20 Threads listed per page, and there are many pages. The oldest thread is at the bottom of the last page. At the bottom of the main page of the forum there is a Category Table called "Forum Information & Statistics". In that table, there is a section called "Threads and Posts". To the right of "Last Updated:", the text displays the very latest thread to have been posted to, and lists the name of that thread, ETC. Click On... Last Updated: "Thread Name"... to read that latest POST to the FORUM. " Recent Threads"... Duplicate Forum Feature. ( SEE ABOVE TO LEARN MORE) " Recent Posts"... To See A listing of the 15 latest posts to the forum, with the newest at the top. There is more than one page, Showing 15 more each. " RSS Feed"... RSS Feed?, ( I have no idea how to use this feature, ETC...) " Mark All Boards Read"... To Mark All Boards Read! The only "Forum Preferences", relevant to this discussion, that I could edit for MY PROFILE, were these two options: Show Participated: " Displays the "Participated" Button next to the navigation tree." ( SEE ABOVE) ( Yes or No) Dates and Times: "Sets how you would prefer to see timestamps." (Drop Down Selection Options) There are some various Forum Options that can be set for EVERYONE... Boards & ThreadsThreads Per Page: " Choose how many threads to display per page." = 20Posts Per Page: " Choose how many posts to display per page." = 15Posts for Hot Topic: " This is the number of posts required in a thread before it displays a "hot topic" icon." = 15Based on MY search, I was not able to find any options that would place new posts at the top of ALL FORUM threads. Sorry... Michael
