EFFECTIVE: May 09, 2015.
This is a REMINDER, UPDATE & EXPANSION to our Previous Publications.
You may read those publications HERE: mjrmstsrepaints.proboards.com/thread/430/screenshot-rules
The Maximum Resolution is 1024x768 pixels.
The file format must be in .JPG format.
There may be no more than TEN images per Post. (Additional Posts may be made with no more than 10 images per post)
This applies to any Attachments, as well as, Embedded Images from Other Forums, Websites, & Online Picture Sharing Services.
This will allow our members to quickly load and see each post, regardless of their internet speed.
HOWEVER... Since not everything is always "Black and White", there are some exceptions.... But, If you are unsure as to what you can do, then this Standard Policy Applies!
Our Forum(s) HIGH QUALITY (HQ) policy for any HQ Screen Shot posted.
There are some pre-made Screen Shot Threads with "HQ" noted in the title that allows for:
The Maximum Resolution is UNRESTRICTED.
The file format may be ANY file format, which does allow for the popular .PNG format.
There may be no more than FIVE Screen Shots per Post. (Additional Posts may be made at no more than 5 Screen Shots Per post.)
This allows our members an easier time of Screen Shot Posting, since they don't have to convert, resize, or crop any Screen Shot, that was automatically created due to how their Computer, and Simulators are set up.
Members may create their own Screen Shot Threads if they would like, and may set their own restrictions in either policy listed above. If nothing is specified, Then the STANDARD policy applies.
If Members chose to create threads that will definitely feature HQ Screen Shots, they must create a warning of somekind, ...or just note "HQ" somewhere..., in the thread title, to let all members, with slower internet connections, know that the thread will take quite a while to load. This warning will also let our forum's Moderators know what your intentions are, and will moderate accordingly.
Our Forum(s) HIGH QUALITY (HQ) policy for any HQ Picture posted.
This policy is quite a bit more flexible due to the wide range of resolutions & formats uploaded to the internet by Non Forum Members, and the wide variety of reasons for sharing pictures in our forums...
We do NOT expect our members (And would never ask them) to take a photograph of a locomotive found at a railroad photo archive... download it, resize it, reformat it, & re-upload to our forum here to meet our STANDARD image policy... SO...
The Maximum Resolution is UNRESTRICTED.
The file format may be ANY file format.
There may be no more than FIVE Pictures per Post. (Additional Posts may be made at no more than 5 Pictures Per post.)
This still give our members, with slower internet connections, some confidence that they will usually be able to quickly load and see each post.
This policy applies to ALL GENERAL THREADS found throughout our forum(s)...
HOWEVER...
Members may create their own Dedicated Picture Threads if they would like, and may set their own restrictions in either policy listed above. If nothing is specified, Then this policy will be applied to ALL...:
Dedicated Picture Threads:
The Maximum Resolution is UNRESTRICTED.
The file format must be in .JPG format.
There may be no more than FIVE Pictures per Post. (Additional Posts may be made at no more than 5 Pictures Per post.)

To make things clear...
We offer one Additional "Exception". The Maximum Resolution of 1024x768 pixels is NOT ABSOLUTE when it comes to our Moderators. Image resolutions that happen to be "slightly" larger, which is up to the Moderator's Discretion...to decide what "Slightly" is, will NOT be looked at as violations of our policies.
We do expect that our members show some common courtesy and that they try to keep each Thread & Post, small enough, in overall size, so all our members can have it load, and be able to view it with in just a few minutes.
ALL "HQ" Threads MUST accept "STANDARD" Quality Images. Even Member Created Threads. "Abusing" the goodwill of any of our Members for posting Non "HQ" Images WILL NOT BE TOLERATED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, AND PUNISHMENTS WILL BE SEVERE!
If any of our policies are determined by our Moderators to have been violated..., depending on the severity of the violation(s),
Images may be deleted.
Posts may be edited, moved to new Threads (or merged with other Threads) or even Deleted.
Threads may be Locked or Deleted.
Members may receive Warnings, Membership Access Restrictions, & Possibly Banishment, which of course may be temporary or even Permanent.
As Previously Noted...
If you are unsure as to what you can do, or what you should do...
Then try to make your Threads, Posts, & Images conform as close as possible to our Standard Image Policy!
This way, all of our members will be able to enjoy them!
Thank You,
The Admin Team.
