How To Send & Receive Personal Messages aka PMs
We seem to have some new Members having trouble sending Personal Messages (PMs).
There are TWO ways that I know of...
The First Way...
1.) Go up to the top of the forum, and look at the main menu bar.
2.) Find "Messages" and Click On It.
3.) Look for a table on the page called something like "Personal Messages" or "Personal Messages: Inbox"
4.) At the top right corner of that table, click on "Create Message".
5.) Type in the Subject Matter of Your PM in to the "Subject:" Box.
6.) Select Your "Recipients:", by typing in their exact USERNAME.
The ProBoards Software may help you by offering suggestions depending on what you have typed. If you have NOT finished typing the whole username, but you see it in the list, just click the USERNAME on the list. And/Or Otherwise, when you have finished typing the entire USERNAME, click on the main body of your PM to finish your USERNAME Selection. When you have finished selecting a USERNAME, you will be allowed to add more Members. You may add "just about" as many Members as you want. If you accidentally add a Member, click on the X on the right side of the Members Box to remove that Member. When you do not want any more...
7.) Enter your message in the main body of the Create Message Table. (SEE Main Body Information BELOW)
When you are ready to send your message...
8.) Go to the bottom right hand corner of Create Message Table, and Click on the "Create Message" Button.
Your message has been sent.
9.) Please give some time for Members that don't live here 24/7 to respond.
The Second Way...
1.) Find the Member that you want to send a message to.
1A1.) Go up to the top of the forum, and look at the main menu bar.
1A2.) Find "Members" and Click On It.
1A3.) Search through the Members list, and look for the Primary Member you wish to PM.
NOTE. There is more than one page, listing All Of Our Members.
1A4.) Click on the Member's Row Of Information, when you locate the Member.
OR More Simply...
1B.) If you see a post, somewhere in the forum, made by a Member you wish to PM, Click on that Member's USERNAME at the top left corner of that post.
1C.) Alternate...
1C1.) At any time, any where in the forum, when you see a USERNAME being displayed, and you want to PM that member, Click on that USERNAME.
2.) This will take you to the Profile Page of the Primary Member that you wish To PM.
3.) Find the "View Profile - USERNAME" table on the page.
4.) At the Top Right Corner of the "View Profile - USERNAME" table, click on the "Send Message" Button.
5.) Locate the "Create Message" Table on the page.
6.) Type in the Subject Matter of Your PM into the "Subject:" Box.
7.) Select Your "Recipients:", by typing in their exact USERNAME.
NOTE: Your Primary Member Recipient is already selected for you.

And/Or Otherwise, when you have finished typing the entire USERNAME, click on the main body of your PM to finish your USERNAME Selection. Your message has been sent.

PM Structure:
ProBoard PMs work just like any thread created in the Main Forum. When you create a PM, essentially you are starting a new thread. The only difference is how many people can see that thread. YOU select what members can see that thread. Just TWO Members or any number of Members...
As ALL "Invited" members respond, the thread grows, just like in the Main Forum. Every Post in the PM remains there until the post is deleted, or the Thread is deleted from your Message Area.
When a PM Thread has more than TWO members, it is possible to remove yourself from the discussion at any point as well...
I have not tried it, but I believe you can also add Members to any PM Discussion Thread at anytime as well. I am not sure if they will see the whole thread, or just new Posts...
Main Body Information:
Whatever you can post in a post on a Thread in the Main Forum, You can also post in any post in a PM Thread... Screen Shots, Pictures, Videos, URL Links, ETC...
Have Fun!
Receiving PMs... (For Registered Members Only!)
When you wish to know if you have received a PM from another member...
1.) Go up to the top of the forum, and look at the main menu bar.
2.) Find "Messages".
3.) "Messages" will have a white number on it. If the numbers says 1, then you Have ONE. 2 means TWO, and so on...
4.) To view your new message, Click On "Messages"
5.) Look for a table on the page called something like "Personal Messages" or "Personal Messages: Inbox"
6.) You will see a listing of ALL PM Threads in your Inbox.
Unfortunately, I can't remember what a thread with a new message looks like, But you will be able to tell the different between a PM Thread you have already read, and PM Threads with new posts in them. The most recent PM send to you will be in the PM Thread at the top of the list. The next newer one will be below that, and so on, and so on.
7.) Click on the PM Thread you wish to read.
GUESTS Wishing To Send PMs:
At some point, the ProBoards Software may ask you to provide your NEW PM Thread with a GUEST USERNAME.
You will NOT be allowed to select an Active Membership Name, Such as: "USERNAME".
Try selecting: "USERNAME - Guest", or something similar, Instead.
The ProBoards Software will also ask you to prove you are Human with a quick test (Captcha?), AND...
You MUST also accept ProBoards Terms Of Service!
Please Keep ALL PM Conversions Civil.
Thank You,
The Admin Team.
